Master Seminar: Entrepreneurship Research (4 CP)

The master seminar "Entrepreneurship Research" offered in the winter and summer semesters is aimed at students of the master focus area "Entrepreneurship" in the master's programs in business administration, business administration with technical qualification and industrial engineering.

To apply for a seminar place, the application form in Olat  must be completed in full and submitted by the deadline.

After the allocation and confirmation of the seminar place, the topics specified by the chair on the overall seminar topic are assigned to the participating students in an obligatory kick-off event, taking their preferences into account as much as possible. The seminar topics are based on the research focus of the chair .

The students work on a question from the field of entrepreneurship, based on current academic literature. The main focus is to learn the basics of scientific work for a possible later master thesis based on interesting topics.

Entrepreneurial decisions should be based on a combination of critical thinking and the best available evidence. To make evidence-based decisions, entrepreneurs need to know how to search for studies in  online databases and how to assess the quality of those studies they find. They need to learn how to evaluate the validity of studies and the applicability to their business. The seminar incorporates evidence-based methods into the curriculum. Students must search for, evaluate, and prepare academic literature on an entrepreneurship topic.
